One of the reasons breast augmentation is so popular with women in Philadelphia and around the world is that the procedure is quite customizable. There are a number of choices you can make, especially regarding the nature of your breast implants, that will help you achieve your specific goals and aspirations.
One of the choices you’ll need to make – in conjunction with Dr. Bottger, of course – is whether you’ll choose saline or silicone breast implants. Both saline and silicone implants are safe and can be chosen with confidence, but both have their advantages and disadvantages, and it’s important you know as much as possible before making this decision.
Saline implants – which have a silicone shell but are filled with a saline solution – can be placed through a smaller incision. They can be filled after placement and allow for more customization with regards to size and shape. On the down side, saline implants are at greater risk of rippling, and they tend to feel less natural.
Silicone implants look and feel more natural. They’re also much less vulnerable to rippling. On the other hand, they require a slightly longer incision and they’re a little more expensive.
Which is right for you? There’s no one-size-fits-all solution. Dr. Bottger will work with you to choose the implants that are right for your specific needs.
